How it works

Who works on your bill and what you need to do.

A real person. When you upload a bill, our AI reads it line by line and flags charges that look wrong, like a test billed twice or a code that doesn't match the care you got. A mediloop specialist checks what it found, builds the case and handles every call and letter with your provider. Nothing goes to your provider without a person signing off.
Honestly, you could do some of it yourself. Most people don't, because it takes hours on hold and you need to know what to look for. We check every code on the bill against your EOB and published prices, see if you qualify for the hospital's financial assistance, put every dispute in writing and keep following up until there's an answer. You don't make a single call.
Barely. Upload your bill and sign a HIPAA authorization so we're allowed to talk to your provider for you. After that we only get in touch if we need a document or your OK on something.
A photo or PDF of your bill, and your EOB (Explanation of Benefits) if you have insurance. If we need anything else, like an itemized bill, we'll tell you.
Most cases take 2 to 4 weeks. Some take longer, usually because a provider is slow to reply. You can follow every step in your account, and we email you when something changes.
Yes. mediloop, Inc. is a US company, and every case has a real specialist on it. You can read what customers say about us on Trustpilot, and you can reach us any time at help@mediloop.ai and we answer every email within 24 hours on business days.

Your bill

Which bills we can take on, with or without insurance.

Most medical bills: ER visits, hospital stays, surgery, lab work, imaging, specialist visits, urgent care and more, whether you have insurance or not. If we can't work on a bill, we'll tell you before you pay anything.
It covers one bill. A single ER visit often turns into several, one from the hospital and separate ones from the ER doctor, the lab or anesthesia, and each one is its own case. If you have a few, the Annual Plan covers up to 6 bills for your household for $499.
Often, yes. Insurance doesn't stop billing errors. A lot of what we find is on insured bills: a claim processed wrong, care billed as out of network when it shouldn't be, or the hospital asking you for money your insurance should have paid. We check your bill against your EOB and push to get those mistakes fixed.
Yes. Uninsured patients are usually billed the highest prices. We check for errors, ask for the self-pay discount and see whether you qualify for the hospital's financial assistance, which at a nonprofit hospital can cut a bill a lot or wipe it out.
Yes: bills already with a collection agency, bills that are part of a lawsuit, and bills more than 24 months old from the date of service. Not sure about yours? Upload it and we'll tell you before you pay anything.
We can't take it on, but you still have options. If you dispute the debt in writing within 30 days of the collector's first notice, they have to stop collecting until they can verify it. And if the bill is from a nonprofit hospital, you can usually still apply for its financial assistance, even after it's gone to collections.

Pricing & refunds

What it costs and how we stand behind it.

Uploading your bill and seeing what we find is free. If you want a specialist to work on it, it's $129 for one bill, or $499 a year for up to 6 bills for your household. It's a flat fee, never a percentage of what we save you.
Most bill negotiation services take a share of what they save you, often 10 to 25%. We don't think you should pay more because your bill was worse. With us it's $129 whether we save you $200 or $20,000, and you keep all of the savings.
You get your money back. On Pay Per Bill, if we don't lower the bill by at least $129, the $129 is refunded in full the day your case closes. On the Annual Plan, if your bills aren't lowered by at least $499 combined, the full $499 is refunded. For the guarantee to apply, don't pay the bill or agree a payment with your provider while we're working on it, and reply within 14 days when we ask you for something.
Hold off if you can. Paying the bill, or agreeing a payment plan, while we're working on it makes it much harder to bring the amount down, and the money-back guarantee no longer applies. If a due date is close, tell us and we'll ask the provider to put the account on hold while we review it. We can't promise every provider will.
Email us at help@mediloop.ai and tell us what's going on. We offer sliding-scale pricing for financial hardship, because no one should be priced out of fighting an unfair bill.

Credit & collections

What happens to your credit while we work on your bill.

Working on your bill with us doesn't touch your credit. What can affect it is a medical bill going to collections. Right now the three credit bureaus don't report medical collections under $500, wait a year before reporting an unpaid one, and remove them once they're paid. Those are the bureaus' own policies rather than law, so they could change.
It can, so we don't let a bill sit. We tell your provider the bill is under review and ask them to hold it. Some situations also make them pause by law, for example once you've applied for financial assistance at a nonprofit hospital. If a collections notice arrives while we're on your case, send it to us straight away.

Security & privacy

How we look after your health information.

We handle your health information in line with HIPAA. Everything is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS. We never sell your personal or medical data.
No. We don't use your bills or documents to train any AI model, ours or anyone else's. We use Anthropic's Claude to read your documents, and under our agreement with them they don't train on them either.
We keep your documents after your case closes, so we can help if the provider bills you again. You can ask us to delete your documents and your account at any time at help@mediloop.ai, and we'll do it within 30 days unless the law says we have to keep something.
